A career Montanan with a strong passion for helping others, Ty has spent his 20-year financial career doing so through his strategic work in financial planning. Continuously striving for his clients to have an unmatched experience, Ty always encourages clients to ask questions to ensure they are getting truly what they are looking for in a financial planning firm.
Ty was introduced to the power of mathematical concepts at a young age by his father, who was a math teacher. Taking that fascination further, Ty attended Montana State University and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business Management.
In addition to his education and two decades of financial planning experience, Ty has licences in FINRA Series 7 and 66 and is certified as a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor by the College of Financial Planning. A champion for giving back, Ty also serves on the board of non-profit organizations LaVie, Family Services and the Montana Family Foundation.
In 2019, Ty was honored by Forbes with the prestigious “Best in State Wealth Advisor” award. While he is honored to receive Forbes’ recognition, Ty is most proud of the moments when he is celebrating a milestone achievement with a client, receiving a glowing referral from clients to a friend or a member of their family, or seeing the confidence and appreciation his clients feel after he’s created a financial plan that helps them achieve their goals.
In his free time, Ty enjoys spending time outdoors, catching a Montana State University football game and traveling with his wife, Marca and their four children.
While Ryan brings more than 17 years’ experience as a financial advisor, his experience in the financial services industry spans several decades. He was introduced to stocks and bonds at a very young age by his parents and took this passion to the University of Montana where he completed an internship with a local financial advisor while earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Marketing.
With his extensive expertise in financial and retirement planning, Ryan assists clients with behavioral finances by discovering where they want to be and then providing the map and compass to reach their destination. Knowing plans sometimes change and understanding how successful long-term financial plans should never be stagnant, Ryan stays in close contact with clients to be sure their plan continues to evolve with market and life changes in order to best meet their financial goals and dreams.
In his free time, Ryan is involved in multiple specialty automotive clubs, including Billings Drag Racing, and enjoys skiing, snowmobiling and spending time outside exploring Montana with his family. He has served on a variety of non-profit boards and commissions including the City of Billings Zoning Commission Board and NAMI Billings.

Bringing over thirty years’ experience working in a variety of positions within the Financial Services industry, Lee Ann brings a high level of experience and integrity to her work at True North Financial. With her deep knowledge and understanding of the unique and varied needs of each client, Lee Ann is laser-focused on understanding her client’s goals and designing a tailored plan to meet these objectives.
Lee Ann received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Montana State University-Billings. She has continued her studies in Financial Planning through the College of Financial Planning, earning her Certificate in Financial Planning and a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning and Services. Lee Ann also earned the specialized professional designation of Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA).
Lee Ann lives our core values by bringing passion, expertise and integrity to her clients every step of the journey. She understands that all life situations are different and that sometimes detours appear that take us off course. Lee Ann takes great care in helping people navigate those life events while keeping them on task to achieve their financial goals.
In her spare time, Lee Ann enjoys the outdoors and is an avid wogger (walker/jogger) who completed the Montana half marathon under her goal time of 3 hours. She brings this same goal-orientation to her clients, and friends and family, helping them set financial goals and creating a plan to work toward them, no matter where they are starting in the journey.

Steve brings more than thirty years’ experience in a variety of professional roles, spanning from real estate agent and mortgage broker to financial planner. He appreciates the personal relationships he’s forged in every position and believes success can only be accomplished through a long-term service plan. In his advisory role at True North Financial, Steve takes great care in learning about his clients’ unique situations, dreams and goals in order to design a personalized financial plan. Along the journey, Steve provides education and continual support to keep clients on the right course.
The spark of education was ignited during his pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing at Montana State University. It was further stoked as he was asked to serve in a variety of leadership roles, both in college and throughout his professional career, including a three-decade tenure as board member, coach and President of Little League International - Big Sky Little League. Steve enjoys the educational aspects of little league and being able to see the growth and development of the athletes.
Steve brings the core value of teamwork to positively impact the True North Financial team and every client they serve, working in tandem step to carefully map the course and guide the way. When not educating and supporting his clients or Little League athletes, Steve enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing golf and softball, and watching Notre Dame football.
Sydney joined True North Financial in 2018 as Operations Manager, bringing more than ten years’ experience in a variety of operations, administrative and communications roles. She brings a keen knowledge of business operations and systems that help streamline True North Financial’s processes and service delivery to ensure an exceptional client experience. With client interest as her “True North,” Sydney’s analytical strengths enable her to quickly identify and analyze issues and also offer multiple solutions to address them. She takes absolute pride in ensuring clients' peace of mind when handling their financial planning.
Sydney earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rocky Mountain College where she played on the women’s golf team and worked in the Admissions office. Harnessing that teamwork mentality, Sydney and the True North Financial team work together to take care of every client in a personalized way that fits their unique financial needs and goals.
Still an avid golfer, Sydney spends her free time now teaching her son JT the sport. They are also proud Roberts Rockets fans, attending all girls’ basketball games to support the team and their coach, Sydney’s sister, Sarah. Sydney greatly values family and spends much of her free time with them on Montana adventures.

Born and raised in Pryor, Montana, Janet was instilled with a solid work ethic at a young age, embracing a never-quit attitude. After high school, Janet joined the military and served four years in the Navy, traveling around the world. During her time in the Navy, Janet earned her Enlisted Service Warfare Specialist (ESWS) pin.
Shortly after her honorable discharge, Janet moved to Kentucky, and eventually found her way back home to Montana. In her free time, Janet enjoys hiking and traveling, in Montana and beyond. Spontaneous hiking trips with friends and family are one of her favorite pastimes.
